Tim Buttrey

At heart, Tim is an entrepreneur who has built several ministry organizations from the ground up. Tim believes everything rises and falls on relationships. He has loved Linda since 1973 and married her in 1980. He would be lost without his family and friends. Tim has completed The Gottman Institute's Level Two training in the Gottman Method and is also a Certified Trainer in The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. Specializing in Relationship Intensives, Tim focuses on helping couples navigate crises and find their way back to each other.

Linda Buttrey

Linda may be "behind the scenes" but we all know that she is the one that keeps this org running smoothly! When she's off the clock, you'll likely find her spending time with family, dreaming up her next decorating project, watching a good British crime series, cheering on football, or fully embracing her favorite season—fall. If it involves cozy weather, autumn colors, or a little mystery, she's probably a fan!

Sheri Schmitt LISW-S

Sheri has a background that blends counseling and ministry. She has a deep understanding of the unique challenges people face at different stages of life. Her areas of specialty include women's issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and premarital and marital counseling. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, Gottman methods, SYMBIS, EMDR, biblical counseling, and other therapies and modalities as needed. Sheri enjoys spending time with her husband as well as their adult children and their spouses. She likes to hike, Kayak, read, and on snowy days, put together a puzzle.

Susan Buttrey LPC

Her work at True Relationships is both a personal calling and a ministry. Sue shares, “Having experienced my own moments of brokenness and healing, I feel deeply called by God to be His hand extended to the brokenhearted, helping to bring beauty from the ashes.” Sue walks alongside her clients, helping them find hope and healing on their own unique journeys.

Rachel Hoover LPC

Rachel Hoover is deeply passionate about helping individuals and couples find healing, hope, and lasting change. With experience at Meier Clinics in Dallas, TX, Rachel specializes in supporting clients through challenges like depression, anxiety, and betrayal trauma, guiding them toward emotional health and resilience. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients break free from unhelpful thought patterns.

Rachel also helps onboard new clients, guiding them through the process and answering any questions about counseling. If you’re new to True Relationships, she’s likely the first person you’ll connect with to help you get started and feel comfortable.

Gil Dukeman

Along with his educational and professional training, a 41-year marriage equipped Gil with the personal experience to build and sustain thriving relationships. As a recent widower, Gil loved his wife to death – figuratively and literally. As the father of three adult children, he has walked through some of life's most difficult parental challenges with perseverance and integrity. Gil has counseled and supported countless individuals, couples, and families navigating emotional struggles, relational conflict, and seasons of transition.

Laurie LaCross

Laurie LaCross dedicated 21 years to serving children and families as both a teacher and children’s pastor while also offering pastoral care to adults of all ages. After retiring from full-time church ministry, Laurie turned her focus to Spiritual Direction, studying how to better support individuals in their emotional and spiritual growth. “Serving others with compassion, guidance, and prayer is both a joy and an honor,” Laurie shares. Today, Laurie specializes in grief, soul care, and spiritual coaching. Laurie enjoys fun activities with any of her many grandchildren, coffee dates with girlfriends, and traveling to new places with her husband. She's always reading a few books at a time. Laurie lives in East Texas with her husband, Bob.

All therapists at True Relationships Counseling are strictly fee-for-service and are not a part of any insurance networks. You are welcome to use your Health Savings Account for the services rendered.
